And the whiny liberals rebut..."Why are we allowed to have nuclear weapons and other countries aren't? We are the only country to use them." Because we are America, and despite the fact that liberals love to use the word imperialism, we are a completely rational and just country. Especially compared to the rest of the world. Now, thanks to Obama and his appeasement/global consolidation/sovereignty eroding policies, no one will have nuclear weapons...except rogue nations and black market terrorist groups. There goes more leverage for America as the global community continues to consolidate power and policy. I hope Americans (liberals) keep feeling the warm and fuzzy global love when their living standards are reduced to 3rd world levels.
From the AFP - "United Nations: US President Barack Obama will on Thursday chair an unprecedented summit at the UN Security Council to rally world support for nuclear non-proliferation and advance nuclear disarmament.
The talks come as Iran's suspect energy program has once again been thrust into the spotlight, with world powers warning more sanctions could follow if Tehran refuses to comply with UN demands to rein in its nuclear ambitions.
The summit will be the first time the 15-member council will be chaired by an American president, with Obama having set combating nuclear proliferation as a priority of his new administration.
US officials have stressed the aim of the summit is to reinvigorate the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty(NPT), which will be the subject of a key review conference next year.
In his maiden address to the UN General Assembly, Obama on Wednesday renewed a pledge he made in Prague earlier this year to work toward his goal of "a world without nuclear weapons."
