A recent Politico article pondered the question, who is a more potent force for the GOP Beck or Limbaugh? This one is easy, Limbaugh. I don't mind the work Beck does. He draws more viewers, by far, than MSNBC and CNN. I like his message, but personally, I feel his emotions are too contrived and too prominent in his show. I guess that's the point though. He gets people to act which is good but you want people believing and acting what they choose to and what they understand. That's what I like about Rush. He's a machine not a cheerleader. He doesn't suggest you do this or do that. You listen to his show and you're more informed.
The fact is, it doesn't matter. Beck and Limbaugh have liberals running scared. The more radical liberals get, the more Beck and Limbaugh are able to feed off that and bring back wayward voters who thought the "hope and change" line was more than political rhetoric. The democrats saw this opportunity as a chance to knock out the GOP but they forgot that this country is conservative by nature. This has been a work in progress for them. They thought 30 years of eroding the validity of organized religion (namely Christianity), would help them topple the GOP once and for all with control over the house and senate and a historical president. They forgot that conservatives, even if they strayed with their votes last fall, will reject radical liberal agendas en masse. Limbaugh is the steady force behind informing conservative Americans. Beck rallies them.
Liberal politicians aren't attacking their GOP counterparts. They are attacking the conservative media machine. In step 1 of their plan they tried to portray Limbaugh as the leader and voice of the GOP. What a sad reach that was. That pathetic move, and talk about reinstating the fairness doctrine were vague attempts to put all of the GOP eggs in one basket and then regulate that basket.
I find it so funny though, liberals attacked Bush and the GOP relentlessly (on the major networks as well) and had radicals burning flags across the country but that was ok. Now that Limbaugh, Beck and co. have conservatives fired up...they want it to stop. It's like they are little kids jumping up and down screaming "YOU CAN'T DO THAT, I'M TELLING."

They're both horrible.

Guy, you must be a liberal that doesn't listen to Rush. Like I said, I can understand some criticism of Beck but Rush is hard to debate if you actually listen to him.
